In celebration of My Family Farm in FarmVille 2, we asked players how they connect with each other in the game. Out of 33,000 players that responded, nearly 80% said they have connected with someone that they otherwise wouldn’t have through the game and 20% said that playing FarmVille 2 helped rekindle a romantic relationship.
For Sonya Reynolds, FarmVille 2 brought her and her childhood friend back together. Now married, Sonya shared her story with us about the joy the game has brought to her life.

I have FarmVille 2 to thank for the love that is in my life today.
My husband and I first met when we were 7 years old. We lost touch in our late teens when I moved across the state and then later reconnected on Facebook. Initially, to break the ice, we would use FarmVille 2 as an activity to do together but learned quickly that playing the game together while chatting on the phone really solidified our relationship. We stayed up many late nights talking while farming together – even decorating our farms with each other’s initials made out of flowers and crops. It’s the little things, right?
After several months of chatting, we finally met in person and knew instantly that we had something special. FarmVille 2 has become an activity that we share an interest in and it consistently makes me feel connected to him – even if it means just visiting his farm to see his avatar running around or knowing he’s online playing. When the distance is between us, knowing he is virtually next-door from my farm gives me satisfaction.
I had always loved the game, which I think must have stemmed from my passion for riding horses. Since the game allows players to acquire horses inspired by real breeds, I can mirror my horses in the game to those that I ride. When there’s an animal I don’t know much about that I come across while riding, I feel like I learn a lot about them through the game. The ever-changing world of FarmVille 2 always keeps me amused. The game even inspired me to build a chicken coop with a flock of chickens in my backyard. If only they could produce “prized golden eggs” instead of the brown ones I get in the morning…
I play FarmVille 2: Country Escape, and I’m so happy to be able to play on-the-go. I love having another farm and being able to chat directly with my friends and husband within the game. I can easily say that I’ve met some really amazing people around the world through FarmVille 2, not just my fiancé, and I’ve connected with other horse riders that I now keep in touch with.
Thank you for creating such a great game. It has truly changed my life in many ways. I can’t thank you enough for helping bring my husband back into my life.
