We know many of you have amazing ideas for FarmVille 2, so we've introduced Suggestion Sundays for you to share them with our team! This is a great opportunity for you to let us know how you think we can improve the game to better suit your farming needs. 

 

How to Share Feedback:

If you have a great idea that you would like to share, please comment in the most current Suggestion Sunday post. If you have feedback about multiple features, please feel free to leave individual comments for each topic!

As the name implies, we will create a new Suggestion Sunday post every week.

Go Cave Exploring With My Family Farm!

 

 

My Family Farm comes to FarmVille 2 on 7/3! In the upcoming addition, you'll have family that can explore an all new area: the cave. Alex, My Family Farm’s Senior Producer, took a few minutes to explain some of the ideas behind the cave's development.

 

Designing the Cave

“From early on in the development of the Family Farm concept, we decided that we wanted to have new areas for your family members to explore and find valuable and rare items to craft with. And when you think valuable and rare, probably one of the first thing you think of is precious metals, which is how we arrived at the idea of doing a cave that you could explore. 

Early sketches of a cave focused on creating something that looked mysterious but not too scary, natural, and didn't take up a lot of space on the board (as we know space is at a premium for so many players).”

 

“Concept #1 below, with grass growing over the cave entrance, won over the other approaches.”

 

“After a direction was agreed upon, we decided to tackle a location for the new area. The concept was actually pasted over a screen shot of a real farm to make sure it fit with the rest of the game and that it fit well.”

 “With the look and location picked out, the concept group began to finalize the look of the exploration cave, arriving at this color concept. Right away in the color version the team realized that the natural looking cave we had hoped to get was looking a little too man-made. The rock walls looked too much like stones, making the cave look more like the entrance to an ancient ruin than a natural cave you would explore to find precious metals.”

“So we literally went back to the drawing board and took another pass on the cave to make it look more natural, and they succeeded with the color sketch below.”

The My Family Farm Selfie Event!

 

 

To celebrate the upcoming release of My Family Farm, we're kicking off the #MyFamilyFarmSelfie Event!

To participate, just snap a pic with the people you consider to be your family, and make sure someone in the picture is holding a sign that says "#MyFamilyFarmSelfie".

Post the image as a status update to your Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram profile with the hashtag #MyFamilyFarmSelfie, and you could win a FREE Early Access pass to My Family Farm!

Post your selfies until 11:59 PM (PST) on 6/17/2014. We'll choose our favorites and announce winners on 6/18.

How to Win:

• Take a selfie with your family. (Friends and pets totally count.) Remember to hold up a sign that says "#MyFamilyFarmSelfie".

• Post the picture to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram as an update along with the hashtag #MyFamilyFarmSelfie. (Remember the tag, please. We need it to find your pictures.)

Guidelines:

• Don't sweat it - If you can't fit everyone into a traditional selfie shot, just take a group photo. We won't tell.

• Keep it clean - No risque or otherwise inappropriate photos, please.

• Original is best - We want new and unaltered photos.

• Extra Credit - Creative and/or funny photos will definitely catch our eye so have fun!

My Family Farm: Tip #1 Family Jobs (Part 1)

 

 

 

My Family Farm is just around the corner! FarmVille 2's upcoming addition expands the role of your farmer, giving you a Family that can be taught to help out around the Farm.

As we discussed before you'll all live together happily in the Family Farm House. So, even though your Farming Family will use their own resources while they're working, they'll still benefit from your help. 

We will be sharing tips like these in the weeks leading up the release of My Family Farm on 7/3. This is just the first!

Family Jobs Part 1 [Part 2] [Part 3] 

Members of your Farming Family need two things in order to do the farming jobs you teach them: Meals and Energy.

Items made in the Crafting Kitchen are used to create Meals. Your sweetheart needs to eat a certain number of Meals before they can do the jobs you’ve taught them. This number is displayed in the lower-right corner of the job’s icon.

 

"Crop Care takes six Meals to do the job."

 

Jobs also require Energy. At the top of the Family Jobs menu, you will see two blue Energy Bolts. That means your sweetheart has two Energy, so they can do two farming jobs. 

Why are there little lock icons next to the blue energy bolts? Well, that's because as your sweetheart learns more and more farming jobs, they become farming experts and unlock more energy to help around the farm.

Help Walter Save His Wedding!

Walter needs you and your friends to help him make his dream wedding a reality. He's worried that there won't be enough guests, but he knows you're the farmer to turn to! 

Use handmade Wedding Sachets to draw a crowd and ensure that Walter and Barbara have the best wedding this side of Buffalo Brook.

 

Getting Started: 

Build the Wedding Reception Wagon and then help Walter make Wedding Sachets to trade for RSVP's. Collect enough of them and he'll give you a Baby Thrianta Rabbit! 

 

Making Sachets:

Create any of the three Sachets shown above using ingredients from your farm. When you've harvested the ingredients you need, combine them to make your Sachet!

 

Collecting RSVP's:

As friends pick up the Sachets, they'll leave behind RSVP's. Gather them to earn a Baby Thrianta Rabbit, Wedding Dresser, Candelstick Lantern, White Willow Tree, and Wedding Ice Sculpture!
