A Special Twist on FarmVille's Favorite Country Biscuits

In celebration of FarmVille's 5th Birthday and the Summer of FarmVille, we're excited to share real world recipes that are now available in FarmVille 2: Country Escape. You can now bring FarmVille to the dinner table with recipes from Zynga's Executive Chef! All recipes are made with locally sourced, sustainably produced, organic ingredients. Check back throughout the week, as we will continue to release new recipes from the game that you can cook right at home.

Our Executive Chef created a grilled cheese with a fun twist - it's on a country biscuit, inspired by one of the most popular craft recipes in the game!

COUNTRY BISCUIT GRILLED CHEESE

Serves: 10 Biscuits + 1 Sandwich

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

Country Biscuits:

• 3 3/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
• 2 tbs Granulated Sugar
• 4 tsp Baking Powder
• 1 tsp Salt
• 1 tsp Baking Soda
• 1 cup Butter, cold cubed
• 1 cup Buttermilk

Grilled Cheese:

• 1 Sliced Tomato
• Sliced Cheese (Cheddar or Gruyere)
• Salt to taste
• Pepper to taste

Directions:

• Preheat oven to 375 degrees
• Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in medium mixing bow
• Cut in butter until crumbly and add buttermilk until moistened, until it becomes dough
• Roll out dough on floured surface and cut into desired size and shape - roughly the size of an english muffin
• Place on baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown
• Cut the biscuits in half and toast so that the inside is lightly browned
• Create sandwich with 2 slices of tomato and desired amount of cheese. In a non-stick pan, saute each side of the tomato just like you would a grilled cheese with bread. Salt and pepper each side of the tomato.
• Once the cheese is melted, place seasoned tomato sandwich in between the toasted biscuit

Farming Jobs Part 3 [Part 1] [Part 2]

In addition to the Farming Jobs that you probably recognize by now - Crop Care, Tree Care, Animal Care, Baby Animal Care, and Tree Pruning - there are new types of Farming Jobs your spouse can learn: Foraging, Pearl Diving, and Cave Exploring.

These new farming jobs give special items that are worth a lot when you craft with them. For instance, in the image below you can see that the Pearl Diving farming job gives you Pearls under the Job Benefits heading.

If you go to your Crafting Workshop, you'll see a number of new items you can craft using Pearls that are worth a lot. For instance, Heirloom White Pearl Cream is worth a lot of coins!

 

 

In addition to the coin value of many of the new items you can find using the farming jobs, orders that ask for these items are worth a lot more too! For instance, in the order below that asks for Pearls from the Pearl Diving farm job and Mushrooms from the Foraging farm Job, you can see that not only is the order worth a good amount of coins, but it is worth 5 Favors. This number of favors is almost twice as much as regular orders!

Your sweetheart starts with only two Energy, but as they learn more Farming jobs they’ll gain more Energy to use. The last farm job area you unlock and teach to your sweetheart is Cave Exploring, which comes with something extra. The fourth and final Energy is earned by learning Cave Exploring. 

 

 

So not only do you get more coins and favors when you unlock and use the new Farm Job areas, but you also get more energy when you learn the final Farm Job!

You can even switch out ingredients to make a variety of flavors like apple, blueberry, blackberry and more! APPLE & RASPBERRY YOGURT POPSICLES

Serves: 10 Popsicles

Cook time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

• 4 cups Plain Yogurt
• 1 cup Granulated Sugar
• 1 1/2 cups Heavy Cream
• 1/2 cup Fresh Raspberries, chopped or mashed if desired
• 1 Apple, diced small

Directions:

• Whisk the yogurt, apple and sugar together
• In a separate bowl, whisk the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks
• Gradually fold the heavy cream into the yogurt mixture to create a mousse-like consistency
• Pour the yogurt mixture into the desired popsicle molds and freeze until firm, at least 30 minutes

FarmVille 2: Country Escape Summer Celebration Guide

Dogs are here! Dogs will help you sniff out rare items on your farm!  Purchase the Border Collie (optional) to help you find items needed in the Summer Celebration. Dogs can help find other rare items such as Copper, Quartz etc.

You will have 3 weeks to complete the Summer Celebration quests, and win an exclusive German Shepherd dog that will be a valuable Farm Hand! 

If you are at least level 9, you will see a pop-up inviting you to the Summer Celebration.

 

In the celebration there are 4 phases that will have a unique reward upon completion. The final reward is an exclusive German Shepherd dog! Each phase will have 4 quests that will guide you through the celebration.  

Start off the Summer Celebration by visiting the Event Center located behind Eagle Eye Eddie's airplane

You can access the event progress from the Event Center or the lower progress bar. Once you complete a section of the progress bar, tap on it for extra coins!

Quests can be found in the Quest Almanac

Farm Hands will search for new items such as Raspberries & Cherries that will be used to craft new delicious recipes!

New items needed and where to locate them:

• Raspberries: Explore areas such as Grandma's Glad, Pappy's Pond, Merryweather Mine etc
• Summer Event White Corn: Harvest Corn crops

Once you complete the final quest you will be rewarded with an exclusive German Shepherd! The German Shepherd will be an additional Farm Hand that will help you find additional Quartz in the Mine, and higher chance of finding Bass.

You will need to purchase the Dog House in order to place the German Shepherd. It can be found in the market for coins.

Every farmer could use a helping hand from time to time! Whether they give you some extra water or another plow, a great Neighbor can make all the difference when you're having a tough day on the farm. 

On Fridays, we create a blog post that is designed to help you find FarmVille 2 Neighbors. Just leave a comment below to let other players know you are looking for Neighbors!

We released an update in the App Stores today. Please download the latest release for a big Summer Event Celebation!

What's new in version 1.8.95:

• DOGS: Play with Dogs as your new Farm Hands. These furry friends will help you sniff out rare items at the glade, pond, mine, and pier. Build a Dog House and bring home a Border Collie right away. The German Shepherd is FREE once you complete the quests.
• EVENTS: Enjoy the Summer Celebration! There are new items, new recipes, and new quests waiting. Finish the event and you get the EXCLUSIVE German Shepherd for FREE.
• MUSIC: We heard your feedback about playing your own music while playing Country Escape, and we've fixed that! Make sure you turn the sound off in the game and enjoy your own tunes!
